Community Guidelines

Last Updated: April 4, 2026

MapJob is a platform connecting job seekers and employers. These guidelines exist to keep that connection honest, safe, and equitable for everyone. They apply to all content on the platform, including job listings, profiles, resumes, and messages.

These guidelines supplement our Terms of Use. Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

1. Honest and Accurate Listings

For employers

  • Post only real, currently open positions. Ghost listings—postings with no intent to hire—are prohibited.
  • Job titles, descriptions, compensation ranges, and requirements must accurately reflect the role.
  • Your company name, location, and contact information must be truthful and verifiable.
  • Do not post the same job multiple times under different listings to game search visibility.
  • Remove or archive listings when a position is filled or no longer open.

For job seekers

  • Your profile, resume, and application materials must be accurate. Do not misrepresent your qualifications, credentials, or work history.
  • Do not submit applications for positions you have no genuine intent to pursue.
  • Fabricating references, certifications, or past employers is prohibited and may expose you to legal liability.

2. Non-Discrimination

MapJob is committed to equal employment opportunity. Job listings must comply with all applicable anti-discrimination laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state equivalents. You may not post a job that:

  • Discriminates based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age (40+), disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
  • Uses language that discourages protected classes from applying (e.g., “recent graduates only” in a context that implies age discrimination, or listing religious requirements unrelated to a bona fide occupational requirement).
  • Requests information from applicants that cannot legally be used in hiring decisions.

MapJob does not guarantee that every listing meets these standards. If you see a discriminatory listing, report it using the flag option on the listing or email support@mapjob.io.

3. No Spam or Unsolicited Outreach

  • The MapJob messaging system is for legitimate hiring communications only. Employers may message seekers whose profiles they have legitimately accessed. Seekers may message employers regarding open roles.
  • Bulk unsolicited messages, mass outreach unrelated to a specific role, and messages promoting products, services, or third-party platforms are prohibited.
  • Do not use the platform to collect contact information for use outside of MapJob.
  • Off-platform solicitation (e.g., asking users to continue conversations on unrelated networks) is prohibited except where naturally required to complete a legitimate hiring process.

4. No Harassment, Threats, or Abuse

  • Treat all users with respect. Harassment, intimidation, threats, and personal attacks are not tolerated.
  • Do not send unwanted romantic or sexual messages through the platform.
  • Do not use threatening language or attempt to coerce, manipulate, or intimidate other users.
  • Do not retaliate against users who report your content or exercise their rights.

5. No Fraudulent, Illegal, or Deceptive Content

  • Job listings must not require applicants to make upfront payments, pay for training kits, or provide financial account information as a condition of the job.
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes and “work from home” postings that are actually recruitment for pyramid structures are prohibited.
  • You may not post listings for illegal activities or roles that violate any applicable law.
  • You may not impersonate another employer, company, or individual.
  • Phishing, malware links, or any attempt to steal user credentials or financial information through the platform is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.

6. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

  • Only post content you have the right to share. Do not post proprietary job descriptions, internal salary data, or confidential information belonging to a former employer without authorization.
  • Do not copy and post other platforms' job listings without permission from the original poster. This prohibition applies to user behavior on MapJob. MapJob's own display of aggregated listings from authorized third-party APIs (such as USAJobs and JSearch) is conducted under proper API agreements and does not constitute unauthorized copying.
  • Respect the confidentiality of application materials. Employers may not redistribute candidate resumes or application materials outside the hiring process without the candidate's consent.

7. No Scraping or Automated Abuse

  • Automated extraction of data from MapJob (scraping) without our written permission is prohibited and violates our Terms of Use.
  • Do not use bots, scripts, or automated tools to create accounts, post listings, or submit applications.
  • Attempts to overload our infrastructure or conduct denial-of-service attacks are illegal and will be reported to authorities.

8. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it:

  • Flagging: use the flag or report option available on job listings and profiles.
  • Email: contact support@mapjob.io with a description of the issue and any relevant links or screenshots.

Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We treat all reports in good faith but do not guarantee action on every report. We will not reveal the identity of the person who filed a report.

9. Content Moderation and Enforcement

MapJob may take the following actions in response to violations:

  • Content removal: we may remove listings, profiles, or messages that violate these guidelines without prior notice.
  • Warning: first-time, minor violations may result in a warning before further action.
  • Temporary suspension: accounts with repeated or serious violations may be temporarily suspended.
  • Permanent ban: accounts engaged in fraud, harassment campaigns, or repeated violations will be permanently terminated. Banned users may not create new accounts.
  • Legal referral: illegal activity (fraud, data theft, illegal discrimination) will be reported to appropriate authorities.

We do not refund credits consumed for listings that are removed due to guideline violations.

10. Appeals

If your content was removed or your account was restricted and you believe this was a mistake, you may appeal by contacting support@mapjob.io within 30 days of the action, with a description of why you believe the decision was in error. We review appeals on a case-by-case basis. Our decision on appeal is final.

11. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email and reflected in the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of MapJob after updates constitutes acceptance.
