Payments & Refunds

This page explains how MapJob's credit-based payment system works, when refunds are available, and how to resolve billing issues. All payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms and conditions in addition to the policies below.

How Credits Work

MapJob uses a credit system for employer job postings. Credits are purchased in advance and consumed when you publish a job listing. Using MapJob as a job seeker is free and does not require credits.

  • Purchasing: credits are available in bundles from your credits page. Prices are shown in USD at checkout.
  • Consumption: one credit is consumed when a job listing is published. If a listing is removed before it receives any applications, see the Refund Policy below.
  • No expiration: credits do not expire while your account is active and in good standing. If we discontinue credits or change the system, we will notify you with at least 30 days' notice and provide a path to use or refund remaining credits.
  • Non-transferable: credits are linked to your account and cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash, except as provided in this policy.
  • Taxes: prices shown at checkout may be subject to applicable sales tax depending on your billing address. Tax is calculated at checkout before you confirm payment.

Refund Policy

Credit purchases

All credit purchases are generally final and non-refundable once the payment is processed, with the following exceptions:

  • Duplicate purchase: if you accidentally purchased credits twice within the same 24-hour period, contact us within 7 days for a refund of the duplicate transaction.
  • Technical error: if a technical error on our side caused an unintended charge, we will issue a full refund upon verification.
  • Account closure: if you close your employer account and have unused credits remaining, you may request a prorated refund for unused credits within 30 days of account closure. Credits used before the closure request are not refundable.
  • Platform discontinuation: if MapJob discontinues the Service, we will refund any unused credits.

Job listing credits

  • A credit consumed to publish a job listing is not refundable if the listing received any candidate views or applications, or if the listing was live for more than 24 hours.
  • If a listing was published but received zero views and zero applications, and you request removal within 24 hours of publishing, we may at our discretion credit back the consumed credit to your account balance. This is a credit restoration, not a cash refund.
  • Credits consumed for listings that are removed due to Community Guidelines violations are not refundable.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or credit restoration:

  1. Email support@mapjob.io with the subject line “Refund Request.”
  2. Include your account email address, the approximate date of the transaction, and the reason for your request.
  3. We will review your request within 5 business days and reply with a decision.
  4. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer.

Billing Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us first at support@mapjob.io before filing a chargeback with your bank. We can usually resolve billing issues faster and with less friction than the chargeback process.

If you file a chargeback without contacting us first, your account may be suspended pending investigation. Fraudulent chargeback claims (i.e., disputing valid charges in bad faith) may result in permanent account termination and may be referred to fraud prevention services.

If you have a valid billing dispute that we cannot resolve, you have the right to dispute charges with your card issuer as permitted by applicable law.

Subscription and Auto-Renewal

MapJob currently uses a credit-based (pay-per-post) model, not a recurring subscription. There are no automatic renewals. You will only be charged when you actively purchase a credit bundle. If we introduce subscription plans in the future, this policy will be updated with full terms including cancellation rights.

Payment Security

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. MapJob does not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant. For payment security issues, see our Security page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated by email and reflected in the “Last Updated” date above. For active accounts with outstanding credits, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before implementing materially unfavorable changes to this policy.
