Your Privacy Choices

Last Updated: April 4, 2026

This page describes the privacy rights available to you and explains how to exercise them. California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others) have similar rights. We honor these rights for all users regardless of location.

For full details on what data we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

MapJob does not sell your personal information and has not sold personal information in the past 12 months. We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this practice ever changes, we will update this page and provide an opt-out mechanism before doing so.

If you use analytics cookies (which you can opt in to), anonymized usage data may be shared with analytics providers. You can manage or withdraw that consent at any time in our Cookie Preferences.

Your Rights

Right to Know

You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources from which it was collected, the purposes for which it was used, and the categories of third parties with whom it was shared.

Right to Correct

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you. Many details (such as your name, email, and profile information) can be updated directly in your account settings.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (for example, we may retain information required by law, needed to complete a transaction you initiated, or necessary to detect fraud). Deletion requests result in removal or anonymization of your data within 90 days.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive a copy of your personal information in a portable, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV), to the extent technically feasible and as required by applicable law.

Right to Opt Out of Automated Decision-Making

MapJob does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. We do not use personal information for profiling in a way that would require an opt-out under applicable state laws.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information

Under CPRA, you have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to purposes necessary to provide the service. MapJob uses sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation, if granted) only to provide map-based job search functionality. We do not use it to infer characteristics or for secondary purposes.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. This means we will not deny you the Service, charge you different prices, or provide a lower level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

How to Submit a Request (DSAR)

To exercise any of the rights above, submit a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) by:

  • Email: Send a request to support@mapjob.io with the subject line “Privacy Request” and specify the right(s) you wish to exercise.

We will verify your identity before processing the request. Verification typically involves confirming access to the email address on your account. We may request additional information if needed.

We will respond to your request within 45 days. For complex or numerous requests, we may extend this period by an additional 45 days with prior notice. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests, but we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee or decline to act on requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive.

Authorized Agents

California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf. The authorized agent must provide written permission signed by you, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us.

Global Privacy Controls (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as an opt-out from analytics tracking. This applies regardless of your prior cookie consent selection.

California “Shine the Light” Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. MapJob does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If you have questions, contact us at support@mapjob.io.

Cookie Preferences

You can manage or withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time via our Cookie Preferences page. See our Cookie Policy for details about what cookies we use and why.
