Terms of Use

Last Updated: April 4, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MapJob platform, including the website at mapjob.io and all related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by MapJob (“MapJob,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and MapJob.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use MapJob. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration and Security

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at support@mapjob.io if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
  • We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Two Account Types

Job seekers

Job seekers may browse job listings, create a profile, upload a resume, save jobs, and submit applications. Using MapJob as a job seeker is free. You agree that information in your profile and applications is accurate and not misleading. You may not submit false credentials, misrepresent your qualifications, or submit applications for positions you have no intent to pursue.

MapJob Apply: Jobs that use MapJob Apply let you apply directly on the platform with one click using your saved profile. When you click Apply, your profile information — including your name, email address, resume, and any application message — is shared with the employer who posted the job. You are responsible for keeping your profile accurate and up to date. Some jobs may instead link to an external website or applicant tracking system; in those cases you leave MapJob and are subject to that site's terms and privacy practices.

Employers

Employers may create a company profile, purchase job posting credits, post job listings, browse candidate profiles, and communicate with applicants. By posting a job, you represent that: (a) the position is real and currently open; (b) the job details are accurate; (c) you have the authority to hire for the position; and (d) the posting complies with all applicable employment laws, including equal employment opportunity laws. You may not post fake listings, collect resumes for purposes other than genuine hiring, or use the platform for market research or competitor intelligence. When candidates apply via MapJob Apply, you receive their profile data and resume. You agree to use applicant data solely for evaluating candidates for the posted position and to handle it in accordance with applicable privacy and employment laws.

4. Job Posting Credits

  • Employers post jobs using credits. Credits are purchased in advance and consumed when a job listing is published.
  • Credits are non-transferable. They cannot be transferred between accounts or exchanged for cash.
  • Credit prices are displayed at checkout. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
  • Credits do not expire while your account is active and in good standing, unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
  • See our Payments & Refunds page for refund eligibility and procedures.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Post content that is false, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or illegal.
  • Discriminate in job postings based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law, in violation of Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, or other applicable law.
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform using automated means without our express written permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure, servers, or networks.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Use the platform to distribute spam, unsolicited communications, or malware.
  • Impersonate any person, company, or organization.
  • Circumvent any security or access control measures.
  • Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination. See our Community Guidelines for additional conduct standards.

6. Types of Job Listings

MapJob displays two types of job listings:

  • Native Listings: Job postings created and published directly on MapJob by employers using job posting credits. These listings support MapJob Apply and are managed entirely within the platform.
  • Aggregated Listings: Job postings sourced from authorized third-party APIs, including USAJobs (the federal government's official employment site) and JSearch (which aggregates listings from sources such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor). Aggregated Listings are displayed on MapJob for informational purposes and redirect you to the original source or the employer's website to complete your application. MapJob does not control the content, accuracy, or availability of Aggregated Listings and is not responsible for the application process on external sites.

Accuracy disclaimer: While MapJob endeavors to display accurate and up-to-date information for all listings, Aggregated Listings are provided by third-party sources and may contain errors, outdated information, or positions that are no longer available. MapJob does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of Aggregated Listings. You should independently verify job details before applying.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to MapJob (“User Content”), such as job postings, profiles, resumes, and messages. By submitting User Content, you grant MapJob a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and make your content available to other users as necessary to operate the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account, subject to reasonable retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have the rights to submit the User Content; (b) your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; and (c) your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable law.

We do not pre-screen User Content but reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, at our sole discretion, without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The MapJob platform, including its design, code, trademarks, logos, and all content created by MapJob, is owned by MapJob and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without written permission.

The MapJob name and logo are trademarks of MapJob. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to use MapJob trademarks.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), AWS (infrastructure), Meilisearch (search), USAJobs API (federal government job listings), and JSearch via RapidAPI (aggregated job listings). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. MapJob is not responsible for the practices of third-party services. Links to external sites do not constitute endorsement.

When you click “Apply” on a job listing that redirects to an employer's website, you are leaving MapJob. MapJob has no control over third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or application processes.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR AVAILABILITY.

MapJob does not guarantee that: (a) job listings are accurate, current, or suitable for your needs; (b) employers will respond to applications; (c) the platform will be error-free or available at all times; or (d) any particular employment outcome will result from using the Service. Hiring decisions are made solely by employers; MapJob is not a party to any employment relationship.

No employment guarantee: MapJob does not guarantee that using the platform will result in employment or that any job listing will lead to a hire.

Job listing accuracy: MapJob does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or legality of job listings. Employers are solely responsible for the content they post.

Automated systems: MapJob may use automated systems to organize, filter, and display job listings and candidate profiles. These systems do not make hiring decisions.

Anti-scam warning: MapJob does not endorse any employer. Be cautious of listings that require upfront payments, request sensitive personal information before an interview, or seem too good to be true.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MAPJOB AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MAPJOB IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MapJob and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Informal resolution first: Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@mapjob.io and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.

Binding arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except for disputes that qualify for small claims court. You and MapJob each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action or representative proceeding. The arbitration will be conducted in English. The arbitrator's decision is binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Exception: Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration, or to enforce intellectual property rights.

Class action waiver: You agree that all claims must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent arbitration does not apply, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of state and federal courts located in Delaware.

16. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@mapjob.io or through your account settings. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of unused credits unless otherwise specified in our Payments & Refunds policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict your access to the Service, at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to: violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, extended inactivity, or at our discretion with or without notice. Termination does not relieve you of obligations arising before the termination date.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post the updated Terms with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.

18. General

  • Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and MapJob regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: We are not liable for failures or delays resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
